More Summer Activites

Nelson has been having a great summer.  He started daycare a few days a week and is meeting new friends.  He's running all over the place and understands many words now - still mostly speaking his own language though.  And above all, he is very curious and ready to learn.

Summer Fun

Nelson has been having a fun summer trying all sorts of new things.  He's been on hikes with his Daddy, been swimming at the city pool, and even got to go visit his Uncle John in Driggs while his parents did some mountain biking.  He's walking all over and even starting to run!

Family Pictures

Right after Nelson's birthday, we had some family pictures done.  Janna Beecher did them for us and did a great job - especially working with Nelson.  It's nice to have some photos of all of us together!

Nelson's 1st Birthday!

Wow, It's hard to believe that Nelson is already 1 year old!  What a year it has been too.  We are so proud of him.  He's a good boy and has learned so much.  He's taking steps on his own and has such a sunny personality.  We love him more than ever.

We celebrated his birthday with some family and he had a great time.  Grandma, Auntie Andrea, Uncle Jesus, cousins Sofia and Alexander came over, and we also Skyped with his Grandma and Grandpa in OH.  He had a blast.  Except for the cake...

Grandma made him a teddy bear cake.  He looked at it for a little bit, didn't really want to dig into it, and then started crying!  He was afraid of it. :)  He did get a taste of it though and did a little shiver because it was so sweet.  And yes, he got a little spoiled with gifts - but he is very, very loved.

He also got a plate of spaghetti the next night and made a royal mess.  I think he liked the bath most of all!

Happy Birthday to Nelson

So Sweet...

But it scares me!!!

Wow - my own wagon!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

My favorite: a ball!  This one with dinosaurs...

Cool, colorful overalls from Mexico

I love swinging in my new swing - thank you Grandma!
Already shooting hoops with the basket my Daddy got me.

How did I get so messy?

Ah, the perfect way to end a good birthday: some hair sculptures in the bath!

Photos for Father's Day

I took Nelson in to get a few photos for Father's Day.  Here is how they came out:

11 months

Wow, we can't believe how time flies!  Nelson is turning into a little boy.  He's close to walking, but isn't quite comfortable letting go on his own just yet.  He's stacking blocks, giving high fives, eating lots of new things, and still cute as ever.  Here are some recent pics.

Kellie and Steve gave him a stuffed monkey

He loves to snuggle it!

He even likes playing with the box the monkey came in!

Daddy's guitar makes some great noises.  While pounding on it isn't allowed, Nelson has figured out that strumming it makes a better sound anyway.

Another one of Daddy's toys that Nelson is eager to start playing.

He LOVES black beans.  Note that there are none in the picture - just the remnants of them on his face and tray.

"What can I crawl under/through next?"
