Nelson's 1st Christmas

Jamie's family came to visit for Christmas - so Nelson got to spend his first one with both sides of his family!  It was great since Bonnie and Wylie had not yet met Nelson, and Bob, Carol & John had not seen him in a few months.  So much has changed!  Nelson is sitting up on his own and is becoming quite a character.  He liked ripping the paper and playing with the bows.  But what he loved most was all the people to play with him and love on him!

Getting ready for Christmas

We're getting ready for Nelson's first Christmas.  He was a good boy - both to go see Santa and to get a Christmas tree!

Happy 1st Thanksgiving!

Nelson's first Thanksgiving was a nice quiet holiday for us.  He got dressed up and even got in on the feast.  He had his first carrots - grown by his dad in the garden.  And, in tribute to Nelson's Grandpa Tom, he also got a turkey leg.  Amanda's dad used to think it was pretty funny to take a picture with a little baby and a big turkey leg, so we had to continue the tradition for him.  Also, Nelson discovered this week that he can get his toes in his mouth.  Enjoy the photos!

Dressed in his Thanksgiving Best

Thankful for Papa!

Give me that turkey leg!

Wow, you mean I actually can have it?

Yum!

A new item to gum up!

When he sucks on one foot, the other one is still kicking like crazy!

First Food and First Halloween

Our little sweet pea, Nelson, got to have his first rice cereal right at four months.  He loved it and ate it up like a champ.  A couple days later, he had his first Halloween.  He got to dress up as a Sweet Pea and a Bear.  Of course, he had no clue, but it was so cute!

Yum!

He kept trying to grab the spoon

Sweet & helpless - didn't know what the hubub was about, but so cute.

He liked to grab and try to eat the first pea

Skiing like my mommy will be fun!

Wait, I changed my mind - maybe I want to ski like my daddy...

Sweet Nelson

Nelson is 16 weeks old now.  We're looking forward to his 4 month check up this week - and hopefully the Dr. will tell us we can start some real food.  Nelson likes to sit at the table and watch us eat while he drools, so we think he's ready!  Here are some recent pictures.

He loves to pull blankets over his face.  This time at Grandma's, he got it just right.

Baby sized "bear skin" rug!

He'll be a great climber one day with the toe holds he's practicing now.

He starts to get mad after laying down for too long, so now he can sit up and play!

He loves the lights on the pinball machine.

Rockin' Out

Nelson gets cuter every day.  So many expressions!  He's a pretty happy baby, and we just can't get enough.

Thanks for my hat Marty - it keeps me warm on these cool fall days!

Rockin' the Social D shirt (baby's first concert, in utero) - thanks Jason & Kristin!

We got these muffs to protect his hearing in loud situations. He just thought it was hilarous the first time we put them on.

Jammin' out!!!

He loves to just stare out the window

Who you lookin' at?

Our Lil Punkin

Last weekend we went down to Bozeman to visit our friends Brett & Amy.  Jamie and Brett went to the Bobcat homecoming game, and Amy and I took Nelson to get his first pumpkin at a local farm.  He was just over 3 months.  Plus some other pics below.

No, I don't want this pumpkin!

Hmm, which is heavier?

Twin fans!

I'm in control!  Now let me watch the game...

Had to take a pic for Dave that gave him the jersey - but he's just so handsome here!
